Pioneers in mammography, then.
Leaders in advanced bone and breast imaging, now.

What better way to make sure women have easy access to mammograms?

Between 1985 and 1989, thousands of women across the Seacoast Region were able to get screening mammograms, thanks to Women's Life Imaging Center's mobile van.

Bring testing services directly to them!

That’s exactly what we did.

In 1985, Women’s Life Imaging Center brought then-modern film screen breast imaging technology to the Seacoast with the purchase of a state-of-the-art mobile imaging van. Until 1989, when we moved into our first location, over 10,000 mammography and ultrasound exams were performed on the van as it traveled between Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover and Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

We were early adopters then, and we continue to be today, giving patients immediate access to the most advanced breast and bone imaging services in the Seacoast Region. It's all about early detection—detecting tiny breast cancers long before they can be felt... being able to evaluate a patient's risk for osteoporosis before they break a single bone—because when diseases are caught early, treatment is much more effective.
